Kiri Rottie (Milk Rottie)




This is a traditional Sri Lankan food which is mainly common for breakfast. This is made out of rice flour and there is a special clay pan for that.This is served with  sweet coconut milk.Lets see how we going to make it.

Ingredients :

For The Rottie
 
Rice Flour  - 250 g
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Coconut water - 1/2  cup
Baking Soda - 1/8  Tsp
Salt - 1/4 Tsp

For The Sweet Coconut Milk
 
Honey  - 1/2 cup
Coconut Milk - 1/2 cup
Coconut - 3 Tbsp
Garlic - 3-4 cloves
Ginger a small piece
Salt and pepper


Method :

The Rottie

In a bowl mix flour and coconut water well. Keep overnight to bloom. In the following day morning add coconut milk and stir well. Add salt and baking soda, mix again and keep it aside.

Sweet Coconut Milk

In a pan, fry the garlic, coconut,salt and pepper.Add ginger also. Grind all the ingredients together. In a pan add coconut milk, honey and coconut mixture. Heat the milk until it get warm.

Greece the pan and pour  a little bit of flour mixture to the pan.Close the pan to rise the rottie. After 3 -4 minutes take the rotttie out of the pan and soak in the sweet coconut milk.Keep there for few minutes to absorb the milk. Repeat this until the flour mixture is over. Serve it in hot.
